My son got a reply on his Instagram in German. Neither of us can read it. Can somebody translate this for him?
A 911 for your time.

Did you try copy paste to Google Translate to get a quick gist of it? I don’t have an Instagram account, so maybe this isn’t possible...?
Sadly I don’t speak German :(

Here’s what Google translate coughed up
I’m not sure what it means, but I can tell you that Geschwindigkeitsregelung mit bremsfunktion means cruise control with brake function.

Couldn’t copy/paste from Instagram.

Shit.
At this point, my eyes don’t focus enough for German. Muss man anerkennen is basically “you must respond to this”
There’s something about not having a routine.
Yeah, I don’t think that’s a serious buyer for your Porsche.

A test match is pretty nice but don’t expect too much. You try things that are are out of routine. And the boys hang in there as if it means something. Doubt it. Things will be better though. RWE was also full of sap*. Have to recognize that.
That’s how I would translate it as a German, dunno if *sap is even a thing but Google said so.

But why is that Google translation so good??

Pretty accurate actually, google translate has become a quite powerful tool

Stand gut im Saft has a figurative meaning, and would translate to in great health . Which fits the context.
I like correcting the German of Germans ;)

Gut im Saft is more like being fit or in great shape to me but then again that Redewendung is barely used by anyone here.
Great way to learn a language too. You’ll attend University starting with the winter semester, right?

That’s the plan, which should work out if I pass everything they’ll trow my way. I’m in the C1 course now, which should translate to a professional understanding of German and will be sufficient to start an academic study in German. German is relatively easy for me as a Dutchman though, just like Dutch would be to you as a German. The languages are closely related.

I’m sure everything will work out, even though you have to sacrifice your Peugeots for it. And you are right, Dutch and German are quite similar.
